Dance and "Capoeira"

“Martinho Fiuza, from Salvador (Bahía), married, two children, has lived in Munich since 1980 and was the first person to teach Capoeira in Europe. After working as a dancer in a samba school, he went on to become a soloist and Capoeira dancer as well as a Samba, jazz and afro teacher, and also an impresario. His extraordinary plasticity makes it possible for him to execute dance and Capoeira movements rarely seen on stage. He has opened his own dance school in Munich, which currently has over 180 pupils (children from 4 to 11, teenagers and adults) and 4 ballet and jazz teachers. Martinho has imbued his dance academy with a Bahian philosophy of life and his own characteristic style: friendly, cheerful and warm-hearted as Bahians typically are, he is also a natural leader and a perfectionist, organising and managing dance festivals, shows, excursions and classes. Fortunately, you don’t have to live in Germany to enjoy seeing Martihno. Rome, where he won the Italian National Theatre Prize ”Il Gonfalone d’Óro”, London, Paris, Monte Carlo, Switzerland, Vienna, Basle and also in Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Israel, Kuwait y in the United Arab Emirates … all have had the privilege of sharing Martinho’s talents as an artist and his Bahian pride in being Brazilian.
